In 2018 and 2019, the Editorial Team of International Journal of Ageing and Later Life and our publisher Linköping University Electronic Press, have been migrating IJAL's old website to the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. OJS is an open-source system for journal management and publishing that has been developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP) and is supported by public- and university libraries around the world. IJAL still maintains its status as a full Open Access journal and authors retain the right to their work through a CC BY/NC license. From 2020, this will be opened to a CC BY-license to allow author distribution of articles through commercial platforms such as Researchgate.

The new site has integrated functions for submissions and reviews, and authors can check the status of their manuscript by logging in to the website. IJAL is launching the new website with Issue 13(2) and the website will be in full use from 2020.
