Authors
Authors are accountable for the content of their submissions. In choosing to use Generative AI tools, authors are expected to do so responsibly and in accordance with research ethics and the publication ethics of IJAL.
If Generative AI tools are used in the development of the research or manuscript, authors are required to disclose this use. The disclosure should be provided as a statement in the Methods or Acknowledgements section and must specify the full name and version of the tool used, the purpose for which it was used, and a description of how it contributed to the work.
AI-assisted proofreading, spell-checking, or formatting does not require disclosure.
Peer reviewers and guest editors
Peer reviewers are selected for their expertise and must not use generative AI tools in the creation of their reviews. Additionally, uploading unpublished manuscripts into Generative AI tools is not consistent with keeping the confidentiality of submissions.
Editors safeguard the quality throughout the publishing process and must keep submissions confidential. Uploading unpublished manuscripts into Generative AI tools is not permitted.
